Omsorgsbetyg is an independent rating engine for Swedish elderly care. We combine official open data into a single, source-backed rating for every nursing home and home-care provider. The site itself is in Swedish; this page explains what it does.

What we rate

Two things people actually choose between: special housing for the elderly (särskilt boende, nursing homes) and home care (hemtjänst). We currently publish ratings for 1,444 nursing homes and 2,336 home-care providers.

How the rating works

The rating weighs the residents own experience, from the national survey "What do older people think of elderly care?", together with structural quality such as staffing and competence. When few people have answered, we pull the result toward the national average, so a unit never tops a list on statistical noise. If too few have answered, we publish no combined rating at all.

Why you can trust it

We are independent, we do not track you, and no provider can buy a better placement. Ratings and awards are always free and can never be purchased. The only thing that is licensed is the image of an award a unit has already earned.
